What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?

Botox is a prescription medicine consisting of a highly purified protein derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It is synthetically made in controlled environments insuring the correct unit-to-unit ratios and consumer safety.

How does BOTOX® Cosmetic work?

BOTOX® Cosmetic works by blocking nerve signals responsible for motion to the muscles, temporarily paralyzing the muscle and effectively causing the appearance of wrinkles to soften. Botox will not cause you to loose feeling in the injected area or travel to other areas.

BOTOX® Cosmetic also has a preventative effect as it stops the muscles from making habitual movements that cause lines and wrinkles.
